Why do cultural events feel like they’re accelerating at such a face-melting rate? Everywhere we turn around us, cultural norms are being obliterated by the week, inroads being made towards ‘new normals’ we couldn’t have even imagined just last year alone. Maybe there’s something to be said for the amplifying effect of echo-chambers and the way they can wrinkle reality for people who are a little too plugged into social media and other sewer-like conduits for the cultural sickness. |
