guid bans comes from having an illegal cod4. punkbuster is trying to ban as many illegal cod4 users becouse... (the anser you know  )
punkbuster reads your cod4 serial number and checks if it's already in use. if it is already in use you get an guid ban.
if you have a guid ban you can do serveral thinks to play.
1. buy a origanal cod4.
2. only play in servers without punkbuster.
3. download a keygen, and change your serial code.
if you change your serial code your guid ban is gone and you can play in al the cracked servers again. but ofcourse you wil play in our server 
a side effect is that if you do it wrong your level wil be at 1 again. here is how you have to do it: first of all start cod4 and go to options. then you go to multiplayer options. on the bottom you see: enter key code. you see there your serial number, and you can change it there. subscribe your new serial but only click on verify. dont click on done!!! after you clicked on verify you open console by using the ` buton, and you type in /connect ..... (on the dots has to go a cracked server ip). then your new serial is saved and you can play again
