I've been using a similar setup and recently switched to the Boox Palma 2 - it's basically phone-sized (6.13" screen), super lightweight at about 170g, and the E Ink Carta display is great for reading in any light with adjustable front lighting. It runs Android, so you get Google Play for all the apps you need, plus expandable storage. No distractions like on a regular phone, which is a big plus for focused reading.
