So my wife's 2016 Cooper S has been sitting for a couple weeks while we were traveling and I went to start it this morning to grab some groceries and it just groaned at me once and then nothing, and of course the battery is buried under a bunch of trim in the boot and I watched a YouTube video on how to replace it and the guy was going on about how you absolutely must register the new battery to the intelligent battery sensor or else the car will overcharge it and shorten its life and possibly mess up the footwell module which sounds like a nightmare I don't want to deal with, I'm pretty handy with a socket set but the coding part is where I draw the line because I don't have a fancy scan tool that can talk to the BMW modules and I'm not about to brick something just to save a few hundred dirhams on labor, I started looking for a mobile service that actually knows the Mini platform specifically and I found a listing for some Mini Cooper battery replacement experts who come out with the right spec AGM and the software to do the battery registration properly and they even mentioned clearing the old adaptation values which is exactly the kind of detail I was hoping to see, so I guess I'm just checking if anyone here has used a mobile battery guy for a Mini and actually had the car behave normally afterwards without any weird electrical hiccups because I really don't want to be that person who ends up with a Christmas tree on the dash and a husband who has to sleep on the couch for breaking the car.
