Rainy Day

I started getting letters and calls from Davert Law Corporation a few weeks ago about an old debt I barely recognized. At first I thought it was a scam, but after looking them up, I realized they are a real law firm based in California that collects for creditors.

What’s stressing me out is that they are not just asking for payment – the letter mentioned possible legal action if I ignore it. I don’t want to end up with wage garnishment or a court judgment. Has anyone else been through this with them? Were you able to settle for less than the full amount? And how do I make sure I don’t accidentally admit to something I shouldn’t?

I found a site that explains some of my rights but I’d rather hear real experiences from regular people. Any advice on responding safely would help a lot. Thanks.
