I’ve noticed that there’s a lot of moss and algae growing on my roof, especially in the shaded areas. It’s not only unsightly but I’ve heard that it can damage the shingles and cause premature aging of the roof. I’ve tried cleaning it off myself, but it keeps coming back. Has anyone dealt with moss or algae on their roof? How can I fix this problem without causing more damage?

Thank you for the great advice! I hadn’t thought about ventilation being the root of the issue. I’ll give them a call to get it checked out.
