The game begins with 15 object balls arranged in a triangle, with the 8 ball in the middle. Players typically “break” by hitting the cue ball into the array to disperse them. After breaking, the first player to pocket a valid object ball (not the 8 ball) will be allocated that group (plain or striped). Your opponent will be assigned the remaining group.

Shooting:

Use intuitive controls (usually dragging a line or adjusting the angle) to accurately aim your shot. You will see the projected path of the cue ball and often the object ball, helping you plan your moves.

Power Control: Adjust the power of your shot to control the speed and distance the balls travel. This is important for positional play.

Spin: Advanced players can add spin to the cue ball (called "English" or "sidespin") to control its rebound after hitting an object ball or rail. This allows for complex follow-through and draw shots.

Fouls: Certain actions result in fouls (e.g., pocketing the cue ball, hitting an opponent's ball first, not hitting the rail after contact). Fouls often give your opponent "ball in hand," allowing them to place the cue ball anywhere on the table.

Pocketing the 8 ball billiards: You may only pocket the 8-ball after all of your designated object balls have been cleared of the table. You must call the pocket you intend to pocket; failure to do so or illegal pocketing will result in a loss.
