Hey everyone — just want to share what I’m going through and see if others have had the same experience.

A few weeks ago I got contacted by Lakeside Receivables about a debt I supposedly owe. Right away they started calling multiple times a day, sometimes from different numbers. I asked them to stop calling my work number — politely — but they continued anyway, even after I told them explicitly not to contact me at my job. They’ve threatened legal action, wage garnishment, and hinted they might call my employer or coworkers. They refuse to send me proper documentation or validate the debt in writing.

It feels like harassment, and I’ve been trying to figure out what rights I have. I’ve been logging all calls and trying to build a paper trail, but I’m not sure what steps I should take next — is a cease and desist letter enough? Can I sue them for this kind of debt collection harassment?

If you’ve been contacted by Lakeside Receivables or gone through something similar, I’d really appreciate hearing how you handled it. What worked for you? What laws or protections did you lean on? Any tips on standing up to aggressive debt collectors would mean a lot.
