| Good morning everyone! Quick question about pile installation - I bought screw piles for my deck project and I'm ready to start, but I've never actually used a pile driver before. Is there a proper technique or process I should follow? I don't want to mess this up and have to start over! |

| Good morning! There's definitely a proper process to follow. Start by clearing the site and checking piles for defects. Secure the driver on the pile, then begin rotating clockwise while constantly checking verticality with a level - this is crucial. Work smoothly without jerking motions. Drive to at least 1.5 meters depth, and if you hit rock or dense layers, relocate slightly rather than forcing it. I found excellent step-by-step instructions at https://tips-for-working-with-piles.blogspot.com/2025/07/how-to-choose-pile-driver-for-screw.html that cover the whole process. Key tip: work with a partner if possible, use a level constantly, and don't rush the rotation. Taking your time prevents pile damage and ensures proper installation. |
