| I've been lurking on this board for a few months now, ever since I hurt my back at work and started running into problems with the insurance company. At first everything seemed fine, they approved my claim and started paying for my physical therapy, but then they sent me to one of their doctors who said I should be able to go back to full duty even though my own doctor says I'm not ready. Now they've cut my weekly checks down to partial and I'm basically working reduced hours at a job that still leaves me in pain at the end of every day. I keep seeing people on here saying to get a lawyer, but honestly I've been holding off because I'm already struggling financially and the idea of adding legal bills on top of everything just feels overwhelming. I finally called around yesterday and found out a lot of these places will do a free consultation workers comp New Paltz area without any upfront fees, which I didn't even realize was a thing. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone here was in a similar spot where you were nervous about the cost but ended up going for it anyway. Did it end up being worth it? I'm not trying to get rich off this whole thing, I just want to make sure I'm not getting pushed back to work before my body is actually ready and having my benefits messed with in the meantime. Any advice would be appreciated because I've been losing sleep over this for weeks now. |
